Please subscribe to this blog.

See that orange square with the funny squiggly symbol? That’s a “Subscribe” button. There are 2 similar symbols to the right of this post, too. See them? One is next to text that says “Posts RSS”. There’s a variation of the symbol below those that, under text that says “Subscribe via Email Address”.

By using one of those options, you can subscribe to this blog. That means you never again have to check back by typing in “www.booksellersblog.com” into your web browser to see if anything new has been posted.

If you subscribe via email, you will get notification in your email inbox every time something new appears on the blog. But do you really need more email cluttering up your inbox?

Instead, I would recommend the use of reader (I recommend Google Reader if you aren’t using some other reader already). This allows you to subscribe to any number of blogs in one place. Once you’ve set up your reader, you can bookmark that web page, and when you go there, all of the blogs to which you’ve subscribed will be listed there in one place. Any blog that has new posts will appear in bold, or you can set it up to only see those blogs that have new posts. It’s a quick and easy way to handle blog overload.

You can use your existing Google account, or create an account for free if you don’t have one.

Here’s an excellent video on how to use Google reader. You really only need to watch the first 3 or 4 minutes to get started, the rest is about more advanced features of Googlereader.

So please subscribe. It’s part of what make blogs so powerful. I’ll be talking about the power of blogs in the next few posts, and you will see how being able to subscribe in a reader can benefit you in trying to reach your customers.

Thanks.
